Sakura Mochi
Made with a coarse rice flour called dōmyōjiko, this paste is sweetened with sugar and slightly tinted with pink food colouring and is wrapped around Koshian (red bean paste) and either topped with a sakura blossom or with a sakura leaf wrapped around it. Both the sakura blossom and sakura leaf are edible and offer a slight salty and floral contrast to the sweetness of the rice flour and bean paste. Do eat the sakura leaves in moderation. *Gluten free, Dairy free, Vegan*
